Movers and shakers gather at R.V. Industry Power Breakfast

WSBT — The movers and shakers of the RV industry were in Elkhart Thursday morning for the annual R.V. Industry Power Breakfast.

The event has been happening for years at the R.V. Hall of Fame.

In attendance were Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson., Congressman Rudy Yakym and Notre Dame Basketball Coach Micah Shrewsberry.

A Global Economist we spoke to says the outlook for the industry is positive.

“There will be a demand for RV’s as long as the jobs are there. The income is there. And fortunately, it looks like the economy will be continuing to do well for the rest of this year and over the next couple years. I don’t see a recession. I don’t see any major shock that’s going to hurt the demand for RV’s,” said Bernard Baunmohl, Global Economist.

Over 1,300 people showed up for the 2024 RV Industry Power Breakfast.

The RV industry calls Elkhart County home, and it employs thousands of people. It’s been said, along with band manufacturers, that RVs are the lifeblood for northern Indiana.

Organizers say this is the biggest breakfast ever held. We asked industry experts if the large turnaround potentially foreshadows good times ahead for the industry.
