KOA Announces Campground Opening in Lake Tahoe, Calif.
LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Kampgrounds of America is pleased to welcome the former Lake Tahoe KOA back into the KOA Family of Campgrounds.
The Lake Tahoe KOA is the basecamp to explore all the Lake Tahoe area has to offer. Located just four miles from the south shore of the beautiful Lake Tahoe surrounded by tall pines (with Echo Creek running through), this campground offers a relaxing stay with dozens of local activities for the outdoorsy camper. Guests can swim, boat or cruise the lake, visit the local casinos, dine at the excellent local restaurants, go hot-air ballooning, horseback riding, hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking, jet-skiing, parasailing and fishing in the Truckee River or other nearby lakes. Lake Tahoe is a treasured outdoor paradise.
The current owners are investing heavily in the Lake Tahoe KOA property to elevate the guest experience. Updates include renovating the main check-in store as well as upgrading sites, cabins, the dog park, the playground and bathrooms. The campground is also adding food and beverage options for both adults and children including a new food truck that will sell beer, wine and local ice cream for the hot summer nights.
The campground offers Full-Hookup RV Sites, Tent Sites and a variety of accommodations including Deluxe Cabins and a unique chalet. Located at 760 US Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe, California, the Lake Tahoe KOA is open from May 1 to October 31.
