Keeping RVs Cool No Matter the Power Source Just Got Easier Than Ever

Seasoned RVers know too well that air conditioners and other energy-hungry appliances play a big role in RV electrical power management. For instance, when a rooftop air conditioner starts up, it can shut down the other RV appliances if there is not enough power to handle the inrush of electricity required to start the A/C.

One popular remedy for this problem has been A/C soft starters that are installed directly on each air conditioner. The SoftStartRV™ product from SoftStartUSA has become an industry leader because of its premium quality backed by thorough technical support.

Now, to make things much easier, SoftStartUSA has raised the bar for soft starting convenience with the new SoftStartUp Advanced A/C Soft Starter – the first “plug ‘n play” soft starter that starts multiple rooftop A/Cs on limited power – with a single plug-in product.

How Does SoftStartUp Work

Unlike most other RV A/C soft starters, which must be wired directly to each A/C unit, the “plug & play” SoftStartUp design means no wiring diagrams or electrical connections for installation are needed. It just plugs into the main power supply. All an RV owner must do is plug the RV into the SoftStartUp. If an RV uses a surge arrestor for campground power pedestals, then the SoftStartUp would plug into the surge arrestor to maximize the RV’s power protection.

The new SoftStartUp product is sized for RVs with 50-amp power centers. A free 30-to-50-amp dogbone adapter is included for RVs with 30-amp power packages.

The SoftStartUp controller plugs directly into a 50-amp or 30-amp power source, so only one SoftStartUp is needed – even if the RV has two or more A/Cs. If one A/C is running and a second unit kicks on, the SoftStartUp unit will throttle down the inrush of the starting A/C while power still flows freely to the rest of the RV.

In other words, say goodbye to unnecessary startup power surges and hello to a smoother, more reliable power management experience for the whole RV.

Even Off-Grid, SoftStartUp Starts A/C, Refrigerators, Medical Devices, and Other Appliances

With limited power sources such as 2200-watt generators or solar-energized batteries, a SoftStartUp soft starter improves power efficiency in off-grid conditions. Reducing A/C startup amps frees up power for other vital appliances such as refrigerators or medical devices – all while keeping the air conditioner running.

With larger generators or two small generators in parallel, the SoftStartUp offers even more options for A/C and multiple appliance operation, which can be vital in “no-power” emergency situations.

Field-Tested by RVers and Experts

Mike Sokol, a 25+ year RV electrical expert known as Mr. RV Electricity, found the product’s engineering to deliver impressive results.

“I was able to start and run two RV air conditioners on a 30-amp power pedestal, and run two A/Cs on my 3000-watt Honda generator for hours,“ said Sokol. Very impressive. I think it’s really cool,” Sokol continued.

Jim Hill of R&J RV Adventures appreciates its easy, right-out-of-the-box plug-in installation and the fact that it started the RV A/C without interrupting power to other appliances that would normally shut down during A/C startup.

Thomas Baity, host of Home on the Hitch, said the SoftStartUp worked flawlessly as it started their 2 RV A/C units on a 3,000-watt generator.

With the breakthrough plug ‘n play SoftStartUp soft start technology, there is only one move RV owners can make to eliminate low-power RV A/C starting problems without the hassles of installation – especially when trying to run two air conditioners.
