It Took Five Years to Convert a Double-Decker Bus into This Luxury RV

Over the years, we’ve seen all kinds of DIY motorhome renovations and camper van conversions, but the one in the video above may be the most impressive yet. The clip takes us on a tour of a vehicle that started its life as a double-decker bus but has now transformed into a luxury RV. The swanky rig comes with some impressive features and amenities, with plenty of room for the owners to stretch out inside.

The camper is built on the frame of a 1992 Napoleon Skyliner, which was purchased by its current owners in 2011 for €15,000 (roughly $15,525). They spent the next five years renovating the bus, which involved removing most of the 90 passenger seats that were inside. That freed up enough room to build a lounge, dining area, and a large kitchen on the first floor.

The upper level is accessed via two flights of stairs located at the front and back of the bus. On the second floor, you’ll find the primary bedroom and a large second bedroom with two built-in bunk beds. Both sleeping spaces are separated by a well-appointed bathroom that includes a sink, a porcelain toilet, and a shower with a small bathtub. Two large closets provide ample storage facilities.

As far as technical specs go, the RV features a 255-horsepower engine and comes with a 158-gallon fresh water tank. It also has a 79-gallon blackwater tank and a built-in 26-gallon propane tank. These features help make the vehicle more versatile, allowing it to travel off the grid for extended periods.

Watching the video it soon becomes obvious that building this motorhome was a labor love. A lot of thought went into the design and construction of the RV, which turned it into the perfect camper for the family that owns it. The clip also offers some unique and interesting ideas for anyone who is planning a camper conversion of their own.
