Introducing Hikerkind’s First Hiking Boot, Made With Keen

Glimpse down at the feet of Hikerkind community event attendees, and KEEN is always well represented. It’s only natural, then, that the Brooklyn-based women-led hiking apparel brand would team up with the Portland, Oregon footwear maker to release a stylish hiking shoe collaboration. Today, the limited-edition Hikerkind x KEEN Targhee IV is now available in a new, chocolatey brown leather that’s sure to only look better and get more comfy as the miles rack up.
Built for long days on the trail, the Targhee was KEEN’s first hiking boot, released in 2005. Twenty years later, the Targhee IV retains the basic comfortable design of the original, only now with updated materials—and free of PFAS forever chemicals. The upper is fused to the sole rather than glued for a longer-lasting bond, and the midsole is now constructed with air-injected Luftcell that resists compression over time. And its water-repellent coating now uses the brand’s own proprietary KEEN.DRY waterproof and breathable membrane on the inside to keep feet dry.
