Industry Trailblazer Ali Rasmussen Joins OHI Board of Directors – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
OHI officials are proud to announce the appointment of Ali Rasmussen to the Board of Directors of the organization formerly known as the National Association of RV Parks ands Campgrounds. Rasmussen, CEO and creative director at Spacious Skies Campgrounds, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation to her new role as an OHI board member and a voice for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry, according to an OHI release.
Rasmussen’s dedication to the Outdoor Hospitality Industry is evident in her distinguished career and numerous accolades, including being awarded the OHI Chairperson’s Award in 2023. She also served as an Industry Expert on OHCE2023’s Opening General Session Panel, where she shared insights into Spacious Skies Campgrounds’ unique brand voice and future sustainability initiatives.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Ali Rasmussen join our Board. Her remarkable dedication to innovation and fostering inclusivity within the Outdoor Hospitality Industry resonates with OHI’s core values,” Paul Bambei, OHI’s president and CEO, stated in a release. “As CEO of Spacious Skies Campgrounds, Ali has already demonstrated her visionary leadership, and we believe her unique perspective will greatly enrich our Board operations.”
When asked about her new role Rasmussen shared her excitement about joining the Board and her commitment to advancing the Outdoor Hospitality Industry. She expressed her passion for creating inclusive spaces, emphasizing the importance of diversity, equity, and thoughtful inclusion initiatives.
“My drive to better the industry is foundational to how we operate at Spacious Skies as a whole, so I am really excited to begin this journey on the OHI Board of Directors. I take it very seriously and I’m beyond excited to serve this industry in a new capacity,” said Rasmussen.
Rasmussen’s journey into the industry began during the 2020 pandemic when she and her husband, Eric, embarked on a transformative camping experience with their young children, which included the buying of a travel trailer sight unseen and a summer of cross-country road-tripping with 35 nights of camping. This experience led them to begin Spacious Skies Campgrounds, where they aim to share the joy of camping with as many people as possible. With a collection of 15 campgrounds and RV parks within the Eastern United States, Spacious Skies gives campers of all walks of life interested in all modes of stay the opportunity to find consistency in customer service, hospitality, quality of campground facilities and amenities, and natural beauty of the location.
With her multifaceted background in real estate development, marketing, and strategy, Rasmussen is set to make a significant impact on the OHI board. She envisions a future where the Outdoor Hospitality Industry embraces diversity and fosters meaningful connections among all enthusiasts.
“We all have the capacity to contribute to the whole, and if we don’t start to do it now, time will lapse, and there will be lost progress,” Rasmussen emphasized.
