Grand Design, Beacon Team Up to Improve Employee Health
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – Grand Design Recreational Vehicle Company and Beacon Health System announce the recent opening of a new onsite Team Services Clinic at the RV manufacturer’s Middlebury, Ind. campus, as part of an expanded partnership between the two organizations. The forward-looking partnership will support the health and well-being of employees working in the company’s facility.
The new facility houses a comprehensive clinical care team focused on injury prevention and care services. Dr. Vivian Onunkwo, MD, medical director, Beacon Occupational Health will provide medical oversight for the clinic, and Brock Haut, DPT, director of retail operations, Beacon Health System, will oversee the Beacon physical therapy team.
“Grand Design is committed to providing high-quality, respectful and compassionate care for their team. We believe that can be best accomplished by having a dedicated medical team onsite to build trusting relationships, meet team members in their work environment and understand who they are and the work they do,” said Dr. Onunkwo.
At Grand Design’s Team Services Clinic, Beacon Occupational Health provides an onsite occupational health nurse and Beacon Outpatient Physical Therapy staffs a physical therapist. Any Grand Design RV team member experiencing discomfort in their job duties works with the physical therapist to alleviate the discomfort before it becomes an injury. Potential injuries are assessed by the trained occupational health nurse who provides immediate care and refers the patient for additional treatment when appropriate.
“We place a very heavy emphasis on and commitment to safety here at Grand Design,” said Don Clark, President and CEO of Grand Design RV. “Our partnership with Beacon demonstrates our dedication to true, compassionate care for our colleagues and their well-being. We are proud to provide outstanding medical treatment to our Grand Design team.”
As part of the Winnebago Industries Inc. family, Grand Design is committed to achieving a “zero-harm” workplace. To do that, the company works hard to meet and exceed health and safety laws and regulations, identify risks, and take action to protect and empower its employees while at work, the release stated.
In addition to health and wellness treatment, the worksite physical therapist provides interactive education, discomfort evaluation, worksite ergonomic evaluations and acts as an active part of the company’s safety committee. These occupational health experts work closely with the Grand Design team and remain focused on patient care and outcomes.
