RV enthusiast and automotive expert Mike Caudill, a Go RVing brand ambassador, generated lots of publicity for new RVs on display during Elkhart Open House Week, according to Courtney Bias, Go RVing director of strategic marketing.

“It was great way to bring attention to Elkhart to showcase the breadth of the RV Industry and to highlight great features in all the new models,” Bias said. “It also keeps RVing top of mind to many Americans looking for fall adventures.”

Caudill was featured in 18 video segments about new models that ran on local TV news stations in several major markets, including New York, Boston, Detroit, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Nashville. In those TV segments, Caudill talked about the strength of the industry and highlighted trends he observed at the show, such as models designed for off-grid use and RVs that let users work from on the road, Bias said.

Caudill also hosted about 20 Facebook Live segments on the Go RVing Facebook page throughout the week.

“Through interviews with sales reps and OEM founders, Mike provided consumers with a glimpse into emerging technologies, trending features and new floorplans consumers can expect to see on dealer lots in 2023,” according to Sarah Neely, senior manager of marketing communications and data analytics for Go RVing.

The segments included a wide assortment of RVs—from garage-able, lightweight travel trailers to large, luxury motorhomes. Those videos have generated 80,000 impressions and counting, according to Neely.

Caudill is a nationally recognized on-air TV personality who provides expert commentary on a variety of topics, especially those related to the automotive market. He was previously a spokesman and test reviewer for NADA Guides and he has worked as a correspondent for publications and organizations at automotive shows and other events.

Go RVing first secured Caudill’s services in June, Bias said, when he was hired to promote the benefits of RVing. As part of that, Caudill and his family traveled the East Coast and his home state of Tennessee in a 2022 Winnebago Forza motorhome, while creating content for the Go RVing Facebook page. Bias said Go RVing plans to continue making use of Caudill’s service through at least the summer of 2023.

“What makes Mike interesting is that he’s covered the automotive industry for years, and that goes hand-in-hand with the RV industry,” Bias said, “so it seemed like a natural progression for him to partner with us.”
