Mountain View Campground is located at 4157 Swallows Creek Road in Hiawassee. It’s nestled in between Swallow Creek and Hightower Creek, so you’ll never be far away from these lovely flowing rivers. These streams connect with the massive Chatuge Lake, which has 132 miles of shoreline. If you need a private lakeside beach, you’re bound to find a great spot somewhere along this stretch.

Many people travel to this area to enjoy the lake, but Mountain View Campground is on the outskirts so you’ll be safe from the crowds. But you’re still in position to enjoy the water, plus the benefits of the surrounding forest. This campground is quite small, with only 28 sites available. But this gives the park a quiet and cozy environment.

Full hookups are provided at each site, plus visitors can choose a site with 20/30/50 amp service depending on their needs. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the park as well, so you’ll be able to stay connected if you need to.

Although Georgia is a fairly warm state, the winters get pretty cold. That’s why Mountain View Campground is only open seasonally. Visitors can camp between May 1 and November 4, so you’ve got plenty of time to stop by before the snow shuts everything down.

The nightly rates here are also a major bonus. When you heard the words, “award-winning campground” you probably pictured a luxury resort that costs hundreds of dollars per night. On the contrary, you can camp here for as little as $45, making it one of the more budget-friendly RV parks in the country. Discounts are also available for military service members, certain camping clubs, and returning visitors.
