NEW CARLISLE, Ind. – Brinkley RV and Gen-Y Hitch joined forces to get 3rd party testing from Navistar at its New Carlisle proving grounds on a Model G 5th Wheel RV and Executive 5th Wheel Pin Box, according to a press release. The mission was to see how well the Torsion-Flex reduced damage to the RV unit and frame through a rigorous simulated track test.

The test results proved that compared to all other suspension systems tested, the Gen-Y pin box had the most notable influence on protecting the RV, the release stated. The patented Torsion-Flex Technology is what makes it the smoothest riding pin box on the market. The rubber torsion arms built inside the hitch absorb up to 90% of the inertia between the truck and trailer, allowing the two to move independently. This removes chucking and bucking created by bumpy roads, and leaves you with a smooth, stress-free towing experience.

“Over the 10-12 years that I’ve been doing this, I’ve never seen anything have that big of a dramatic effect by just adding one item (referring to the Gen-Y Hitch pin box)…This is one item that can completely change your tow experience.” said Dominick Bilancio, Elkhart, Ind.-based Brinkley RV director of innovation.

The Brinkley Model G RV’s are currently sold from the factory with an Executive 5th Wheel King Pin hitch. Customers have the option to upgrade to Executive 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Coupler replacement model.

“The validation is there for our customers, dealers, distributors, and fellow manufacturers, Gen-Y is truly the best option for a pin box. Yes, this is a costly upgrade, but if you are looking to reduce your warranty claims and costs over time, it is worth it for the manufacturers and their customers,” said Carl Borkholder, Nappanee, Ind.-based Gen-Y Hitch founder/managing partner. “Outside of what some manufacturers have been communicating to customers, that this could be the root cause of frame failure, this validates that it is simply not true. As a matter of fact, it’s quite the opposite based on the data. At the end of the day, RV customers deserve the best products that are available. All Gen-Y wants to do is sell products to the customers that truly make a difference in their towing experience and increases the longevity of their coach. Some customers invest everything into RVing and they deserve better.”

“The unit itself was actually in really good condition. We didn’t have really any major issues, which is a first. Usually at the end of a test, this thing is trashed. We actually have it here and we use it for camping. ” said Nate Goldenberg, Brinkley RV co-owner & overseer of Model G RV’s.
