Forest River Workers Build Walls for Habitat Home in Elkhart – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
ELKHART, Ind. — Around 40 volunteers, including employees of Forest River, participated in a panel build for a family of four in Elkhart, according to an article at ElkhartTruth.com
The event took place inside the company’s Plant 83, where the group worked for about two hours constructing the interior and exterior walls for the Cervantes family’s new home. The construction team from Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County also joined the panel build.
Jackie Cervantes, a Forest River employee and the future homeowner, worked alongside her co-workers during the build. The new home will be 1,396 square feet and will feature four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
A single mother of three, Cervantes said she is excited to become a homeowner instead of renting an apartment. She also believes the new home will offer a better life for her and her children.
”We’re excited to start building this home and can’t wait to move in. It’ll provide more opportunities for our family,” she said.
