Fisherman’s Cove Honored as Florida’s Top RV Park – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Fisherman’s Cove RV Resort in Palmetto has won a Best Park Award from the Florida RV Park and Campground Association in the small park category for parks with 50 to 150 sites.
“We are excited to receive the Best Park Award from our state association,” said Rob Smith, who co-owns and operates the 133-site park with his son-in-law, JP Winkler.
Smith said the park’s high level of guest service across the board is evident in the park’s 480 Google reviews with a 4.7 rating. The resort recently produced a video to highlight its onsite and nearby activities.
Fisherman’s Cove recently underwent a $2 million renovation, with remodeled RV paver super sites and improvements including an expansive array of amenities, such as a waterfront pool, fire pit, tiki hut, BBQ kitchen, outdoor pavilion, a bayside putting green and a pickleball court. A large clubhouse includes a kitchen, a well-stocked game room, a full fitness center and a spectacular view of the Terra Ceia Bay. Kayaks and paddleboards are also available.
Fisherman’s Cove is surrounded by 24,900 contiguous acres of serene aquatic preserve. Nearby are well-reviewed parks such as Robinson Preserve and Emerson Point, which feature walking trails, kayaking, and other activities. Also, within 3 minutes of the resort, is Terra Ceia State Park, a place where visitors can observe nature in the same way pioneers first witnessed Florida’s wilderness centuries ago. It’s a setting where the more experienced fisherman or nature enthusiast can explore, fish and kayak independently.
“As the name implies, many guests enjoy fishing here, both experienced anglers and those just starting out,” Smith said, adding, “Visitors have access to a 24-hour, 375-foot resort fishing pier and cleaning station, plus a private boat ramp. Underneath the pier are 25 mini artificial reefs. We just installed the mini reefs last year, but they are already teaming with natural life and successfully filter 750,000 gallons of bay water each day!”
Although Fisherman’s Cove is quiet and secluded on the shores of Terra Ceia Bay, it is 5 minutes from Florida’s major north/south corridor, Interstate 75. I-75 connects quickly to famous beaches and popular cities, each with unique cultures, festivals, entertainment, museums and restaurants. Cities such as St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Sarasota, and Anna Maria Island are all within 25 minutes. The excitement of Downtown Tampa is also close by, just 45 minutes to the north.
