FCCC President & CEO Jeff Sather Announces Retirement – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
GAFFNEY, S.C. —Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) President and CEO Jeff Sather has announced his retirement, effective May 3. Sather has served as president and CEO of FCCC since 2018 and oversaw the launch of a number of successful products and service initiatives – each built on the company’s legendary focus on customer experience and satisfaction, according to a company release.
“While walking away from this amazing position and outstanding company is never easy, I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team during my time here,” Sather said. “From day one, I’ve been inspired by FCCC’s dedication to its customers and tireless efforts to provide them with the best experience possible, no matter what. I’m very grateful to everyone here for their contributions and commitment to our success.”
Sather’s retirement caps a successful professional career of 38 years, including the past 23-plus years across a variety of roles at Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA), FCCC’s parent company. Prior to joining FCCC, he served as DTNA’s general manager of Controlling for nearly 10 years, and also served as an accounting director and director of market and revenue controlling for the trucks segment.
“Jeff has shown exceptional leadership and resilience in the face of evolving responsibilities,” said Jeff Allen, senior vice president of operations and specialty vehicles at DTNA. “Throughout his career, he has tackled new challenges with grit and determination, which has enabled him to successfully lead FCCC to the market leadership position it is in today.”
Some of the most noteworthy, customer-focused launches and initiatives Sather oversaw across both the RV and commercial truck segments during his tenure as president and CEO of FCCC include:
- DriveTech, the first RV driving system to maximize safety by putting every command in one easy-to-reach location
- The V-Series Suspension System, which united FCCC’s proven V-Ride rear suspension with a dynamic new VFS front suspension to deliver front-to-back stability, responsiveness and comfort with IFS-like performance
- RoadWatch, FCCC’s suite of state-of-the-art safety features for both commercial and RV products
- OptiView, a fully integrated, all-digital, anti-glare display to help ensure driver comfort, confidence and safety
- MT50e, the all-electric, commercial-grade walk-in van chassis that integrated FCCC’s legendary performance with advanced EV technology to meet the demands of last-mile delivery by generating the right amount of power and range – with zero emissions
“We’ve accomplished some great things during my time here,” Sather added. “And, just as importantly, the future looks even more exciting for FCCC and our customers.”
DTNA is in the midst of a comprehensive process to identify Sather’s successor.
