Ex-Monaco Coach Show Director Reed Passes at 69
NAPPANEE, Ind. – Yvonne Mary Reed, age 69 of Nappanee, IN, died at 4:15 a.m. July 16 at The Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart after a long battle with cance, according to an obituary posted at the Thompson Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
She retired in 2010 after working for many years at Holiday Rambler Corporation and later Monaco Coach in Wakarusa. She worked in marketing at Holiday Rambler before becoming the director of shows and rallies at Monaco.
She was born to John C. and Helen (Hill) Kirkwood in Chesterfield, England on Aug. 27, 1953. She was raised in Scotland until the family moved to New York when she was 12 years old. The family later moved to Benton Harbor, Mich.
She married Steve Reed at the First Presbyterian Church in Benton Harbor and they were married for almost 45 years before he preceded her in death on July 27, 2019.
Survivors include two children: Lindsay (Allan Ferrell) Reed and Ian (Nicole) Reed, all of Nappanee, and five grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. July 20 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to a 10 a.m. memorial service on July 21 at Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
Memorial contributions in Reed’s name can be given to The Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart, Ind.
