Equal-i-zer Hitch Congratulates Elliott on 27 Years of Service – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
PROVO, Utah – The Equal-i-zerm,Hitch, American manufacturer and innovator in trailer sway-control technology, has kept families safe on the road for more than 75 years. In those years, Equal-i-zer has accumulated many seasoned employees who have intensive industry knowledge and brought success to the company and Industry, according to a press release from the company.
“Working in the RV industry is a unique experience because people buy from people they know and trust. The longer someone has worked in the industry, the more capacity they have to leverage relationships and experience. This helps dealers buy quality products and provide their customers with safe and enjoyable experiences,” the release stated.
Rich Elliott, vice president of sales and marketing at Equal-i-zer hitch, is celebrating 27 years at the company this month. When asked about how he felt about his time at Equal-i-zer hitch, Elliott’s response was; “Working at Equal-i-zer is incredible. The people, dealers, and co-workers I get to work with every day is the best part of my job,” says Rich Elliott. “Some of the friendships I’ve made at this job have spanned more than 25 years.”
Elliott began as an accounting clerk for Equal-i-zer in 1996. When he first joined the team, the company was so small that employees pitched in where they could. This had him helping a variety of departments such as accounting, purchasing, shipping, and even welding, before he settled into sales and marketing.
One of his unique positions included calling dealers located from Nephi, Utah, to Logan, Utah, and delivering ordered hitches the following day in the company’s 1993-forest green Ford F250 truck. While this may seem like grunt work, Elliott explained the importance of being able to meet dealers face-to-face to establish trust and build relationships that have lasted for years.
Another unique job he finds himself looking back fondly on, was the impressive work that went into making creative ads and photography for the brand. Without the use of photoshop, drones, and other technology, the Equal-i-zer hitch marketing team had to get creative to get the right shot. In that same green delivery truck, the team strapped a lawn chair in the bed of the truck facing the hitch and trailer. Holding on for dear life, the team would record the hitch from the bed of the truck, resulting in some incredible shots of the Equal-i-zer in action.
“Rich has been a monumental leader in our company,” states Jed Anderson, CEO of Equal-i-zer Hitch. “In his 27 years at Equal-i-zer, he has gained and shared vast industry knowledge that has helped the growth of the brand, the success of RV dealerships, and safety of our mutual customers. We wouldn’t be where we are without him, thank you, Rich!”
