Electric Outdoors, Nxu Partner on EV Charging Project – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
Electric Outdoors, Inc., a Michigan-based company that provides sustainable off-grid camping systems, has entered into a strategic partnership with Nxu, Inc., a domestic technology firm specializing in innovative EV charging and energy storage solutions. By combining Nxu’s cutting-edge charging technology with Electric Outdoors’ trailblazing camping platform, this mutually beneficial collaboration unlocks a whole new outdoor adventure and road trip experience for electric vehicle drivers, according to a press release.
The partnership establishes a commitment by both companies to deliver a charging experience for campers and road travelers. Electric Outdoors pledges to integrate the NxuOne charging system into its solar-powered EO Canopy, amplifying the effectiveness and utility of the platform and providing a next-level charging experience for off-grid EV adventurers, states the release. In turn, Nxu will deploy EO Canopies in remote areas and during site build-outs to give travelers access to convenient amenities during charging station development. Additionally, both companies are committed to the development of pull-through charging stations designed for the electric RVs of the future.
“We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Electric Outdoors and explore the possibilities found at the intersection of charging technology and outdoor adventure,” said Mark Hanchett, CEO and founder of Nxu. “Together, we aim to redefine the landscape for cross-country EV road-trippers and weekend warriors, offering innovative charging solutions that enhance their overall experience.”
The EO Canopy, Electric Outdoors’ flagship product, is a first-of-its-kind camping platform powered entirely by sustainable sources, making off-grid energy, water and waste handling available to EV drivers, RVers and other campers.
“This partnership with Nxu aligns perfectly with our mission to revolutionize the future of electric RVs and off-grid camping,” said Josef Hjelmaker, CEO and founder of Electric Outdoors. “By combining our strengths, we can provide innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of EV owners and campers.”
“Combining Nxu’s advanced charging infrastructure with Electric Outdoors’ camping solutions opens the door for EV adopters to enjoy outdoor adventure and long-distance road trips in a new, convenient way,” states the release. “The partnership, established through a signed Letter of Intent (LOI), marks a significant step forward in pushing the boundaries of cleantech innovation and an electrified future.”
