Dad of the Year Jumps in to Catch Fish After His Kid’s Line Snaps

A hero of a dad rescued the day when he took his kids fishing, and the line snapped while his son was reeling in a big fish. Eduardo Alvarez (@bestdad_ceo on Instagram) allowed himself a split second of disappointment before a thought entered his mind, and he acted on that thought immediately. Alvarez leapt into the water after his son’s prize, and this dad of the year caught the fish with his bare hands.

When Alvarez resurfaces, the look of shock on his face is hilarious. We imagine he was thinking: “What did I just do, and how did it actually work?!” In the background, his family is cheering, laughing, and/or crying (at least one of the young kids got a little scared when dad jumped in).

The video went viral a few years back, and Alvarez calls it “the video that started it all.” He’s now a content creator with over 200,000 followers on Instagram. Alvarez reshared the video to celebrate the milestone of reaching 200k.
