Crazy Horse RV Campgrounds: The Place to Stay in Tucson, Arizona
Arizona truly shines in the Tucson area, where cacti can grow higher than 50 feet, and historic monuments preserve a deep historical legacy. Crazy Horse RV Campgrounds give guests a front-row seat to this spectacular corner of the Grand Canyon State, along with excellent amenities. It’s no wonder this park has such an impressive Good Sam rating (9.5/9*/9).
Improving Park Perks
Offering full-hookup sites and open 365 days a year, the family- and pet-friendly park offers wide-ranging amenities. The park has also completed several major upgrades, including a heated swimming pool, new washers and dryers, covered sites, and remodeled restrooms and shower facilities.
Solar energy accounts for much of the park’s power, while covered sites (located under the solar panels) give guests a chance to camp in the shade. Internet service has been upgraded to Cox Communications, providing faster speeds and more data. Campers can enjoy this improved service via Wi-Fi, which is complementary.
Superb Sites
Guests can choose from 176 full-hookup spaces powered by 30- and 50-amp electricity. Of these, more than 100 pull-through sites are available, and all sites have tables.
When campers aren’t in their RVs, they can participate in the vibrant social scene. Prepare to feast on great flavors during Taco Tuesdays, and go Italian during Pizza Nights. Prepare your own ingredients during the campground potlucks, which also serve as a social mixer. Enjoy free coffee at the campground clubhouse along with delicious donuts (free on Monday and Friday). Bingo games also keep the good times going.
Dogs are welcome at the park in designated areas, and you can take care of your pooch at pet stations equipped with doggy bags. Propane is available for those vital RV appliances as well.
Tucson and Beyond
As the second largest city in Arizona, Tucson boasts an amazing legacy of culture and cuisine. The city’s downtown area boasts a blend of quirky shops, groundbreaking restaurants, and historic architecture. In the Presidio District, visit the namesake fort established by Spanish colonists in 1775. In contrast, the Congress Street District boasts compelling modern museums and entertainment spaces. For more history, tour Mission San Xavier del Bac, a Spanish Mission founded in 1692 and boasting elegant stonework.
Equally spectacular are the natural attractions that surround the city. At Saguaro National Park, myriad hiking trails lead through the Sonoran Desert, the only place where Saguaro cacti grow naturally. The park’s western unit draws most visitors to its arresting stands of noble saguaros. Some of these giants surpass 70 feet in height, casting dramatic shadows over the desert landscape. At the base of the rugged Rincon Mountains, the park’s east section is generally the preserve for more adventurous hikers.
For lovers of planets and stars, the University of Arizona/Flandrau Planetarium (10 miles from Crazy Horse) is one of the nation’s top institutions dedicated to astronomy.
