Corvette, Happy Dealers Mark Close of Meyer’s MegaShow – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The final day of the Meyer MegaShow in French Lick, IN, closed on an upbeat note, with dealers looking optimistically to the future.
Overall, the mood of most show participants — dealers, vendors and the Meyer staff — can best be described as highly positive and confident. Attesting to those sentiments, orders were already exceeding expectations by midday Wednesday, according to company officials.
Most vendors, too, were upbeat. Camco officials came with an extensive display and several new products to share with dealers. Director of Dealer Marketing Mike Voyles told RVBusiness, “This has been one of the best shows we’ve been to this year. Dealers were all smiles yesterday at the welcome reception, and they are buying today.” (Mike photo)
Although the aisles were packed at times — especially during the many giveaway drawings throughout the day — traffic was steady and, for the most part, vendors could spend time with customers. (packed isle shot)
Undoubtedly, one of the show’s highlights occurred at the closing evening’s dinner and reception, where one lucky entry was selected to drive home a new Corvette Stingray R. Incidentally, the sleek sports car — sporting a “Meyer Orange” exterior — sat just inside the exhibit space, teasing dealers throughout the day. Carpenter’s Campers of Pensacola, Florida, claimed the prize when the winning name was announced. (Corvette winners and Corvette on show floor.)
Other dealers were also treated to cash prizes ranging from $200 to $7,500 during the closing reception, with the big money going to Dan’s Service Center, Duke’s A&W, Midwest RV, Setzer’s World of Camping, and Trailside RV Center.
Following a couple of tough years for the industry and heading into a fall presidential election, it was a good show for Meyer, its dealers, and vendors.
