ELKHART, Ind. – A Celebration of Life for KZ Recreational Vehicles President & CEO Aram Koltookian, 53, who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, will take place 3-7 p.m., Sunday, May 7 at the RV Hall of Fame, Elkhart, Ind. All are welcome.
He was born June 13, 1969, in Concord, N.H., according to his obituary. On April 14, 2001, he married Shelley Bardwell; she survives along with two children, Zaven D. Koltookian and Armen J. Koltookian, and his father, Zaven S. Koltookian. Also surviving are two sisters, Astrig (Steven) Tanguay, Christine (Christopher) Carey, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Koltookian.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society or the Sweet Pea Foundation.
Aram was passionately dedicated to his family, according to a Thursday release from THOR Industries Inc. officials. He leaves behind his wife and two sons. The loss felt by his passing cannot be put into words.
A long-time dedicated leader in the RV industry, Aram started on a dealership lot owned by his father, became a general manager at Keystone, executive vice president of Dutchmen, and ultimately the president and CEO of KZ. His tremendous work ethic and ability to consider unique solutions to challenges was key in helping propel the business. Aram had a passion for providing families with the opportunity to create lifelong memories. His long-term commitment to KZ, THOR, KZ’s dealer partners and owners was integral to both his personal success and the success of KZ, and truly made him one of kind.
“Aram has been a trusted friend and colleague for nearly 30 years. We started in the industry together as sales reps at Coachmen Industries Inc. and transitioned to Keystone where we shared a sales territory,” said Bob Martin, THOR president and CEO. “Aram played a notable role in the success of our Company, and, more significantly, has always been an important friend to my family. That will be a statement of which I’ll be immensely proud for the rest of my life. Aram will be deeply missed by many.”
As the THOR family navigates this terrible loss, Matt Zimmerman, THOR’s North American RV Group Manager, will assume the role of interim president and CEO for KZ Recreational Vehicles. The KZ team is grateful for the partnerships and support of their dealers and suppliers and looks forward to continuing the path to success shaped by Aram, together.
