Camping World Holdings Inc.’s has again released the accommodations sector’s most comprehensive directory: the “2023 Good Sam North American Campground Guide” including listings of more than 12,000 campgrounds, RV parks, resorts and travel and tourism locations in the U.S. and Canada.

Along with detailed state and provincial maps and new editorial input from travel and adventure experts affiliated with Wildsam Field Guides — a well-known source of expert itineraries of regions, cities and national parks  offering a “more in-depth look” at destinations and related accommodations – the 2023 Good Sam Guide again relied on a “trusted team of trained professionals” to visit and inspect thousands of parks listed in its 1,158-page directory as part of a detailed, three-tiered ratings system.

Those ratings, involving a perfect 10/10/10 rating vs. a minimum 5/7/5 rating for qualifying Good Sam member parks, actually trace their roots back to the once popular Trailer Life and Woodall’s campground directories with which Camping World and its predecessor companies were once affiliated.

“The RV community has trusted Good Sam for more than 50 years to deliver the most comprehensive guides and reviews of tens of thousands of campgrounds and RV parks from those that have experienced them first-hand, and this year we are expanding even further,” said Camping World Holdings Inc. Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis in a column that serves as the directory’s foreword.

”From the overall development and upkeep of the facilities to the visual appearance of the parks,” says Lemonis in addressing readers, “no stone goes unturned during our search to find the best campgrounds and RV parks for you, your family and friends” as “our team members have logged thousands of miles to inspect Good Sam Campgrounds and assign our ratings to facilities, restrooms, showers, and visual appearance.”

The guide, he added, also offers Good Sam’s two million members more than $1,500 in coupons to Camping World and RVs.com retail locations while Good Sam members receive $75 toward camping ($25 per night) at any Good Sam park in North America in addition to the 10% discounts that members already receive.

Promoted on the guide’s first page, by the way, are Good Sam apps enabling RVers to search for campgrounds by city, state, province or current location plus a CAT scale locater for weighing units and a “Waggle Pet Ap” that monitors conditions inside one’s unit and alerts rig owners if and when their furry friends stray outside their limits.

“We are excited to take you on the journey we have embarked on to make our more than 12,000 campgrounds, RV parks and services more accessible during your travels across North America,” adds Lemonis. “We are delighted that you have selected the Good Sam North American Campground Guide to accompany you on your journey. We are confident you will find everything you need in this one-stop resource as you take it on your next adventure. We’ll see you around the campfire.”
