Camping World Holdings Inc.’s (NYSE: CWH) agreement to acquire All Seasons RV in Bend, Ore., is the mega-dealer’s fifth acquisition in the past several weeks, bringing its Oregon location count to six and its total national retail network for the first time to “pretty close to 200 real legitimate dealerships,” Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis told RVBusiness this morning.

“All Seasons RV has been proudly serving central Oregon for over 40 years, and this acquisition will add to our presence in the important Oregon market, solidifying our position as the leader in the state,” said Lemonis, adding that Camping World plans to maintain its acquisitive stance going forward despite the national industry’s relatively soft current status in terms of wholesale shipments and retail sales.

It’s just the way things have always been, in his view, in the RV industry.

“The industry’s moving ahead,” Lemonis told RVBusiness. “I think this industry has seen over many decades that it has its peaks and so-called valleys. But the industry in my opinion has never been stronger – ever. Yes, is there a little moment in time where it’s a little softer than everybody wants? Sure. But peoples’ love for RVs and the number of new people coming to the RV industry is unbelievable.

“I’ve been doing this over two decades and I continue to be more excited about the innovation coming out of the manufacturers and the advancements of RV dealers around the country and the prospects for the next two decades, and that’s the reason why we continue to invest in growing, business to business, and hopefully helping the industry grow.”

As a result, added Lemonis, Camping World plans to continue pursuing additional retail acquisitions going forward in addition to these recent buyout announcements: Travel Land RV Center April 11 n Houghton Lake, Mich.; Breeden RV Center April 5 in Van Buren, Ark.; two-location Utah-based Carbon Emery RV on March 27; plus Pan Pacific RV Center’s two northern California RV dealerships located in French Camp and Morgan Hill on March 14.

“It’s our goal to continue to find ways to grow our company,” Lemonis added, “and whether its acquisitions or new store openings, it does historically make sense for us to accelerate these acquisitions when times are a little slower than normal because we have the same confidence we’ve had over the last two decades, which is that it always returns. And when it does, it always returns stronger than before. We’ve seen this movie too many times.”

Camping World’s release states that the All Seasons RV SuperCenter in Bend, Ore., will offer a wide range of new and used RVs from top brands along with a full assortment of RV and outdoor products and accessories and the entire portfolio of Good Sam products and services.
