Although many RVers turn their eyes toward South Carolina for their travels, there is plenty to enjoy up north as well! The Blue Ridge Mountains are gorgeous and sprawling. And tucked among its hills and valleys, you can find hidden gems like Lakewood RV Resort.

This park is for adults only, so it can be a peaceful retreat if you need a break from the chaos of family campgrounds. The entire area is beautifully maintained as well, with the forest at your doorstep and the mountains sheltering you on all sides.

In addition to a wealth of outdoor activities, Lakewood RV Resort is also close to several travel hots pots, such as the cities of Asheville and Hendersonville. So you’ll never run out of things to explore during your camping trips. Best of all, this RV park has some of the best reviews in the state and the managers put in the work every day to maintain their place at the top of the list.

Overview

Lakewood RV Resort is located in Flat Rock, North Carolina. It’s located on the outskirts of Hendersonville, which is a small city with plenty of charm. The Green River borders the town and branches of it (like Dunn Creek) stretch around the park, giving everyone easy access to the water.

The campground is quite peaceful, located in its own little nook of the mountains. But if you want to venture out and explore one of the most popular travel destinations in North Carolina, take a quick 30-minute drive to reach the city of Asheville. This city draws in artists, history lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all types.

Getting back to the campground itself, Lakewood RV Resort is mid-sized, with a total of 91 sites available to rent. Every site includes full hookups for water, sewage, and electricity (30/50 amp). There are also different site configurationsfrom which to choose. Whether you need a back-in, a pull-through, or even a park model, there’s something for you here.

There are a few regulations you’ll need to keep in mind if you want to camp here. For starters, remember that this is an adult-only campground. Children may visit, but they can’t stay overnight.

Know Before You Go

In addition, there are also some guidelines about vehicles. To book a reservation, you must own an RV that is at least 20 feet long and no more than 10 years old. Restrooms and shower facilities are available within the park, but the managers require that every RV be equipped with its own built-in bathroom as well.

Pets are allowed, but there are some breed restrictions that every camper must follow. For a full list of guidelines, visit the park website at lakewoodrvresort.com.

This may sound like a lot of rules, but it’s all to create a better atmosphere and experience for campers. Many long-term RVers grow weary of parks that are crowded, noisy, and full of old vehicles and trailer homes.

So if you want a more elevated experience, Lakewood RV Resort is here to cater to your needs! Plus, the amenities and grounds are certainly worth a visit, even if it’s only for a night or two.

Rates

Because of the strict regulations here, you might worry about the price. After all, it is called a resort and those don’t always come cheap. Although it’s true that you will pay more than usual for a night here, you’ll also have an experience that’s far above average.

Standard nightly rates are as follows:

  • Regular Sites (back-in and pull-through): $70 per night
  • Big Rig Sites: $80 per night

Discounted weekly rates are also available for $340 regular and $360 big rig. That’s not a bad deal at all, especially when you consider the location and all the amenities that will be available to you. Long-term rentals and lodging options are available upon request, so don’t hesitate to reach out to management with any questions.

These rates remain fairly consistent throughout the year, but they may increase during autumn because that’s when many campers visit this area. The changing leaves are a sight to behold and it’s incredible to camp among the fall colors.
