Bluetti Introduces SwapSolar Ecosystem with New Power Station and Cooler
Portable power station manufacturer Bluetti has introduced two intriguing new products that could be a glimpse of the future. The company has revealed the AC180T power station and the MultiCooler portable refrigerator, which together make up the new “SwapSolar Ecosystem” of products, which promise outstanding performance and impressive features. Best of all, both devices are available for preorder at substantial discounts as part of a prelaunch crowdfunding campaign.
The AC180T has the regular suite of features you would expect from a modern power station, including an array of charging ports, fast charging capabilities, remote control via a smartphone app, and more. It produces 1,800W of sustained power and has a peak surge of 2,700W, allowing it to run everything from portable air conditioners and electric grills to hair dryers, CPAP machines, and mobile devices. But what really separates it from most of the competition is its removable and hot-swappable battery packs, which, in theory, gives it nearly unlimited storage capacity.
The unit comes with two LiFePO4 battery packs with 716.8Wh each for a total of 1,433Wh. That’s enough to run a blender for two hours, a toaster for 1.5 hours, and an induction cooktop for 40 minutes. It can also recharge a smartphone or tablet dozens of times, ensuring you never run out of juice at the campground. And since the batteries can be swapped out as needed, owners can purchase additional power cells to extend usage even further.
Those battery packs will also power the Multicooler, allowing it to run for up to six days. The portable fridge also plugs into an AC or DC outlet or a solar panel. The unit offers dual temperature zones ranging from -4ºF to 68ºF and can cool down from 86ºF to 32ºF in less than 15 minutes. It even has a built-in ice maker that can begin producing ice cubes in about 10 to 12 minutes.
The AC180T and the Multicooler should be available for purchase in April, but Bluetti is now offering preorders at a significant discount via an Indiegogo campaign. The portable refrigerator can be purchased for $569 without a battery or $899 with a power cell. That’s a 37% and 32% discount, respectively. Meanwhile, the power station can be preordered for $849, which is 35% off MSRP. Both devices can be purchased together for $1,429, with additional battery packs selling for $299, 30% below its usual $429 price. Bluetti is also offering several package deals that include the power station, cooler, battery packs, and solar panels.
When we met with Bluetti at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, the company hinted that there could be other products in the works that utilize the swappable battery technology. While they were tightlipped about other products on their roadmap, it seems the SwapSolar Ecosystem could expand at a future date. Having seen the power station and cooler in person, we’re pretty excited to see where things could go next.
