COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – As the Route 66 RV Network wrapped up its 20th Rally on Wednesday at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, the final piece of business was to honor Bent’s RV, Boutte, La., with the Larry Coker Commitment Award.

An emotional Brian Bent accepted the award, detailing what had been a tough year. Bent went through some health issues, he said, and had some doubts about some of the F&I products Route 66 was offering. But in the end, he said he maintained his relationship with the organization and continues to promote the network and its products.

The Larry Coker Award basically is Route 66’s dealer of the year award, but also is more of a lifetime achievement award given to those who exemplify the values of the network and supports its goals.

In addition to the award, Partner and Co-Founder Rob Merrill announced the new advisory board for 2023-24.

The Route 66 RV Network leadership team answers questions posed by members during a final session Wednesday morning at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Final attendance numbers were not ready yet as of deadline, but there were easily more than 150 members and vendor partners in attendance of Tuesday night’s trivia night event.

The 2024 Route 66 Rally will return to Cheyenne Mountain Resort next year and be held Oct. 14-16, 2024.
