BEND, Ore. – Beaver Coach Sales will host a special customer appreciation dinner Friday evening, but the luxury motorhome dealer has a little more on its mind than just rewarding its loyal customers for supporting the business.

Beaver Coach Sales, known for carrying luxury motorhome lines such as Tiffin Motorhomes, Entegra Coach, Thor Motor Coach diesel and select Newmar models, also is announcing it is adding the full line of Newmar diesel Class A coaches, according to sales manager Ryan Kelly.

Representing Newmar will be Matt Ellenger, VP of sales and marketing, Kevin Bogan, VP of production, and Jeff Blake, the regional account manager, all of whom will be on hand to help the Bend, Ore.-based dealership celebrate the event.

“There’s probably not a lot of dealers around the country that have all of those,” Kelly said.

Beaver Coach carries quite a weight for a dealership in such a small tri-county area, with a population of about 250,000 people.

“We’re sort of on a little island out here in central Oregon,” said dealership Owner and General Manager Ty Kelly. “The next nearest town would be like, Eugene, which is an hour and a half or two hours away.”

Ty Kelly said the historic Beaver RV factories used to be in the area, so customers of previous generations became accustomed to traveling to Bend to make their purchases and the dealership has been able to build upon that good will over the years by providing luxury vehicles and quality service to anybody who comes in.

About 50% of Beaver Coach’s business is from out of state, he said.

Beaver Coach’s service department is full of factory-trained technicians from the former factory, but the company also has become an RV Technical Institute remote training center and hopes the benefits from that relationship help it keep up with the demand for service.

“The problem for us,” Ty Kelly said, “is we’re so far off the beaten path that the nearest interstate is over 100 miles away. We have to take care of the people who are here for service so they come in for service and we take care of them and then they buy the rest of their coaches from us.”

Up to this point, for Newmar motorhomes, the offerings from Beaver Coach were Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex and King Aire. Within the next few months, lines added will include Dutch Star, Ventana, Kountry Star and Canyon Star.
