Wake up at Woodstock: New Camping Sites to Open on the Original 1969 Festival Grounds
A quiet farmland in upstate New York became the iconic historical site after the sun-drenched days of Woodstock in 1969. For anyone that has ever day-dreamed about being at this festival, we’ve got some good news to share. The festival grounds, preserved by Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, New York, will soon be transformed into a world-class camping site, ready to welcome outdoor lovers this summer.

The site, a sprawling 1,000 acres, is 90 miles (144 km) from New York City. It is home to the Pavilion Stage, an indoor events space, and a museum.
Wake up at Woodstock
If you’ve been looking for a unique camping location for the summer, this could be it. The new campsites will be in two locations, the Pavilion Camping and the Best Road Camping.
At the Pavilion, pitch a tent and enjoy state-of-the-art restroom and shower amenities. Less than half a mile away, Best Road Camping will offer upscale RV camping facilities. Stylish glamping tents will be available to book near the main stage, for those looking to add some extra comforts to their stay.
This Summer’s Event Schedule
The schedule of events this summer matches the chilled-out vibes of the original Woodstock perfectly. Cast your mind back to the vibes of the late-60s, with mindful yoga sessions, art classes, and sound baths.
There will be concerts in the summer, too. Hootie & The Blowfish (June 27) and Alanis Morrissette (July 5) will grace the famous stage as part of 2024’s summer line-up.
With the Sullivan Catskills Mountains as the backdrop, this special stretch of land will be introduced to new and future generations.
Woodstock, 1969
The Woodstock Music and Art Fair took place on August 15-18, 1969. A festival that celebrated peace and love, the three days marked a movement in music and cultural acceptance. There were 32 acts on the line-up, including legendary acts The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. The Museum at Bethel Woods offers a fascinating collection of photos, movies, and memorabilia from one of the most iconic music festivals of all time.
