GOSHEN, Ind. – Genesis Products Inc. celebrated the debut May 16 of its consolidated RV countertop operations in Goshen with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new 65,000-square-foot solid surface countertop manufacturing facility located next to its existing pressed countertop plant.

And it was only the tip of the iceberg in terms of current news at Genesis, a 20-year-old firm which earlier this week announced a revamped organizational structure that includes a shift to two industry-focused business groups: “RV & Vehicles” and “Industrial Wood Products.”

Genesis is also rolling out an all-new REVIVE Collection aftermarket program in partnership with Camping World Inc., Lincolnshire, Ill., the nation’s largest recreational vehicle dealer.

“The opening of this new plant really completes our Goshen campus,” Genesis President and CEO Jon Wenger told RVBusiness prior to Tuesday’s ribbon-cutting, “ and is dedicated to our solid surface countertop product lines that we’ve been promoting over the past couple of years. So, the plant right next door is doing thermofoil vinyl countertops – the pressed countertops — and we’re marrying the two product lines together to create a cohesive offering to the RV world.

“And along with the product benefits and the capacity and the expansion that allows us to let those product lines keep growing,” he added, “it completes our Goshen campus with more parking, utilizing the space and completing the project we started here in Goshen several years ago.”

Champagne was part of the celebration at Genesis Products Inc.

Staffing is being streamlined at the same time, according to Heather Jenks, vice president of RV sales for Genesis, a 1,200-employee firm that currently operates 14 facilities, nine in the Elkhart region and five out of state. That’s one of the things that we’ve been talking about is the synergy of having pressed and solid surface together,” she said. “We’ll now be the only supplier to the RV industry that has both capabilities available. So, we have one sales rep, one product team and one delivery team so everything is going to come packaged exactly as the OEM’s expect it.”

Having said that, the Camping World news being announced this week is an altogether new twist for Genesis and to an extent for the industry at large. Available on campingworld.com and at 10 Camping World locations as of Mid-May, Genesis’s curated REVIVE Collection allows customers to reface or refresh cabinets, wallboards and backsplashes without the hassle of messy painting or costly renovations.

“For 20 years, we’ve supplied major RV brands with high-quality interior components. We developed the REVIVE Collection to bring that same quality and innovation directly to consumers,” said Erin Curtis, vice president of marketing and development for Genesis. “Camping World has been an ideal partner to bring this collection to market. Their design centers empower owners to make their RV uniquely their own, which is exactly what our REVIVE products do.”

Curtis said the REVIVE peel-and-stick products are easy to install and feature RV-rated adhesive designed to withstand on-the-road conditions for the long haul. “For RV owners who want an upgrade but aren’t ready to buy new, the REVIVE Collection is a DIY-friendly solution that can literally transform their interior,” she added. “We want to make it easy for owners to fall in love with their RV’s again.”

Available in a variety of trendy designs and colors, the REVIVE Collection features wallboard and cabinet kits including tools for easy installation plus cabinet doors available via special order in several colors ranging from traditional to contemporary along with cabinet hardware, backsplash kits made with lightweight PVC and easily installed with double-sided REVIVE tape, providing the look and feel of real tile without any grout or thin-set required.

“The aftermarket offering gives us a new channel to expand and grow,” added Wenger. “Seeing this product line go to market has brought a ton of positive momentum to the team.”
