Foxcroft Looks Beyond YouTube with Launch of ‘Liquified’

With a sense of purpose equal to his sense of humor, Matt Foxcroft – perhaps best known for his popular YouTube channel “Matt’s RV Reviews” – is looking to capitalize on his brand with the introduction of a holding tank treatment.

Called “Liquified RV Toilet Treatment” –  which is being sold through Amazon beginning this week – the orange-scented product is being billed as an “easy pre-measure spout for a healthy black tank.” It promises to prevent odor and break down waste, is 100% biodegradable and made in the USA.

Foxcroft couldn’t help but be excited about the potential of Liquified, adding that launching an RV toilet treatment product is certainly one of the last things he expected to be doing.

“It’s really surreal seeing an actual product that looks professional – well, because it is professional,” Foxcroft said. “And it did cost me all my money that I have, so I’m poor now. I’ll be doing Uber driving on the weekend. But, I mean, we’re really excited to see what we can do.”

“Really, what I’m more excited about is this is the very first product that, from what I know, a YouTuber is now going beyond the typical sponsorship partnerships and putting their money in their own product,” he added.

That his first product is a toilet treatment is hardly a surprise for his legion of fans. One of the recurring bits in each of his videos is when Foxcroft sits on the toilet to determine whether it offers enough space.

“When I get recognized on the street, people say, ‘This is a prime pooping position,’” Foxcroft said. “It happens all the time. The people at the store are looking at me, ‘I don’t understand what just happened.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I sit on a toilet.’ Or like at the Tampa show and Hershey show, you’ll see people walking around with a shirt that says, ‘Give me porcelain or give me death,’ and there’s my logo of me sitting on a toilet.”

Not one to put his name and likeness on a mediocre product, Foxcroft conducted a “science experiment” that included 15 different toilet tank treatments already on the market, plus one formulated by Century Chemical Corp. in Elkhart, Ind., which has been providing sanitation products under various brand names to the RV, marine and other industries since 1926.

Each product was placed in a tub with water and dog food – the substitute for human waste. The one that performed the best – and all of this was captured on video and posted on Matt’s RV Reviews – was Century Chemical, which became Foxcroft’s Liquified RV Toilet Treatment.

Besides its performance, another feature Foxcroft is proud of is Liquified is available in 16-ounce twin neck plastic bottle with a 1-ounce dosage chamber for easy application.

“It’s funny, because we first reached out to them about tablets. We weren’t even interested in the bottles because when you look at the bottles, I’m like, ‘That’s so annoying. You have to pour and everything,’” Foxcroft said with a laugh.

“But then I went on Google and I discovered this bottle with a pre-measure part to it,” he continued. “And I truthfully do love it, because all you do is you is squeeze and it fills it up, and then dump it out. I love it because you’re getting that perfect ounce. You’re not carrying a 64-ounce jug around.”

Foxcroft is no stranger to the RV industry. He got his start selling RVs with Leo’s Vacation Center in Gambrills, Md., about four or five years ago, which is when he started his YouTube channel. After that Foxcroft and his wife moved to Florida and began selling RVs for General RV Center, and that’s when his YouTube channel took off. He went from about 16,000 subscribers to 100,000 in the first year alone.

Now, with over 201,000 subscribers and 46 million views, Matt’s RV Reviews is one of the more popular RV channels on YouTube. Affiliated with General RV Centers, Foxcroft and his team of three publish a new video every other day offering his honest opinion on motorized and towable RVs.

The reason to grow beyond YouTube, he said, is because he needed to diversify his revenue-generating operations.

“So, I was talking to my partner, Wil Knowles, and I’m like, ‘Hey, we have to come up with a business,’” Foxcroft told RVBusiness. “And what I’m known for on my YouTube videos is the ‘prime pooping position.’ I sit on every toilet and I have a little logo of a me sitting on a toilet. That’s my No. 1 piece of merchandise – my little logo man sitting on the toilet. So, then I thought of toilet chemical. And I then looked through the Industry Directory on RVBusiness and I found this company, Century Chemical, gave them a call, and here we are four months later.”
