Las Vegas must be one of our favorite spots to spend a night under the stars, but if pitching a tent in the middle of the desert isn’t your idea of fun, a campsite is the next best thing. Choose wisely and you’ll get power, water, amenities, and perhaps even a shower block. Whether you’re packing a tent or driving an RV, these locations are what we consider the best camping near Las Vegas.
Red Rock Canyon Campground
Red Rock Canyon Campground is widely regarded as one of the best campgrounds in Las Vegas. It’s about 30 miles from the Las Vegas Strip in a secluded desert location. Amenities include RV hookups, toilets, and running water and there are stores close by. Overall, it’s a basic but clean and peaceful spot.
Boulder Beach Campground
Boulder Beach Campground by Lake Mead is part of a larger campsite complex with over 900 sites spread over 15 locations. Plus, it’s by the water. Some of the locations have amenities, such as hookups, fire pits, tent sites, showers, and bathrooms. There’s WiFi around too should you need it. However, it gets busy though so time your visit carefully.

Las Vegas Bay Campground
Las Vegas Bay Campground is due east of the city by Bluff Trailhead, which is convenient for accessing the city, bay, and surrounding desert landscape. The campground welcomes RVs, trailers, and tents. Despite the name, the campground doesn’t have access to the bay, but there is hiking, biking, cottonwood trees, trails, and more to see and explore. It’s a wilder campground with genuine appeal.
Atlatl Rock Campground
Atlatl Rock Campground is a popular family destination that’s open all year round. Set inside of the Valley of Fire State Park, it offers an open desert landscape with amazing views of the mountains. The campground is open to RVs and tents and has 22 spots for each. There are picnic tables, showers, toilets, dump stations, and fire pits to use during your stay.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort
Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort is a private campsite near Las Vegas. It’s a well-run site built mainly for RVs and has hookups and parking spaces for even the largest vehicle. It has a pool, lovely surroundings, a fitness center, spa, beach, putting green, security, concierge, WiFi, and a whole lot more.

Riviera RV Park
Riviera RV Park is more of a holiday park than a campground, but it’s inexpensive and easy. It is for ages 55+ only, so bear that in mind if you’re younger. The park has been significantly upgraded and has RV hookups, a pool, restrooms, showers, WiFi, and onsite maintenance. This is an urban campsite but offers great value.

Hitchin’ Post RV Park Las Vegas
Hitchin’ Post RV Park Las Vegas is a private campground northeast of the strip along Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s an urban campground within the city limits so you can take advantage of everything that’s going on. The campground has a pool, fitness center, clubhouse, bathrooms, showers, RV hookups, and onsite staff. It has everything you need to stay within the city in your own RV.
Echo Bay Lower Campground
Echo Bay Lower Campground is on the shores of Lake Mead and is accessible from the Las Vegas Valley. It’s a wide and open campground run by the National Parks Service and a private concession. The campground is mainly for tents, but the Echo Bay RV Park takes care of RVs. Overall, it’s a peaceful spot with decent size sites and is ideal for fishing, canoeing, hiking and just being outside.

Echo Bay RV Park
Echo Bay RV Park is the partner to Echo Bay Lower and it welcomes RVs. It’s privately run and delivers well-maintained surroundings in the desert. Arch Rock Campground is inside the Valley of Fire State Park and about an hour’s drive from Las Vegas. It’s set up more for tents than RVs but each site has plenty of space around it, which is ideal if you’re seeking a little solitude. There’s a lot to see and do in the park, including amazing rock formations, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, and more. The campsite has showers, bathrooms, tables, grills, running water, and all the basics.

McWilliams Campground

Callville Bay Campground
Callville Bay Campground is east of Las Vegas, by Callville Bay and the Colorado River. Just a short drive from the city, it’s a desert position with the advantage of being close to the water. Las Vegas KOA Journey
Las Vegas KOA Journey proves you don’t have to be in the middle of the desert to camp. This campsite is in the center of Las Vegas itself. It’s just 15 minutes from the Strip opposite Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall and is a cheap way to experience Sin City. Amenities include bathrooms, showers, RV hookups, a pool, a hot tub, WiFi, cabanas, and an onsite store.

Fletcher View Campground is 24 miles from Las Vegas and close to Mount Charleston. It’s one of a few campgrounds in the region that provide easy access to the trails and mountains in the area. The campground is small but welcomes both RVs and tents. It has RV hookups, picnic areas, fire pits, and plenty of places to sit, play, hike, bike, and relax.

Hilltop Campground
Hilltop Campground is inside the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area and enjoys forest views and greenery as well as desert landscapes. It’s also ideal for exploring the park and surrounding mountains.

Thousand Trails Las Vegas RV Park
Thousand Trails Las Vegas RV Park is a laid-back RV site just six miles from the strip. It’s a partly urban site that offers the delights of the city one way and the desert in the other. Facilities include a pool, hot tub, sundeck, spa, clubhouse, store, laundry, dog park, WiFi, showers, restrooms, and a library. Thousand Trails is a well-designed site for those who like their home comforts while on vacation.
Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort
Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort is set up for RVs and provides a wide range of amenities on-site. It’s more of a hotel experience than a campground but is highly rated enough to be worth a place here. Amenities include a pool, clubhouse, welcome center, restaurant, pet park, bath house, laundry, security, and sports courts. If you don’t want to live without amenities, this is the place to try.
Sage Desert Dreams
Sage Desert Dreams is just a short drive west of Las Vegas, minutes from the mountains within a mixture of green land and deserts. It’s a private campground that is welcoming to all. If you like to hike, bike, and explore the wilderness, this campground is ideal. It has geodesic domes to rent, bathrooms, solar power, a BBQ area, fire pits, and a well. It’s ideal for covering the basics while you camp.

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder RV Park
Arizona Charlie’s Boulder RV Park has just been recently renovated and includes a hotel as well as RV sites. It’s on Boulder Highway close to Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall and offers all the delights of the city. The site is well maintained with a restaurant, bar and lounge, WiFi, security, RV hookups, clubhouse, outdoor TV, showers, fitness center, pool, laundry, and a dog run. It’s a great option if you want amenities.
Circus Circus RV Park
If you want to be on the Strip rather than close to it, Circus Circus RV Park is where you want to go. It’s on the grounds of the casino and offers great camping within the urban sprawl. This site is more of a hotel alternative than a full campground, but we try to cater to every taste. You’ll find a pool, hot tub, dump station, laundry, RV hookups, and a children’s playground on site as well as the delights of Las Vegas within walking distance.

Desert Eagle RV Park on Nellis AFB
Desert Eagle RV Park on Nellis AFB is something a little different. It’s an RV site open to DoD cardholders and retired service personnel on the air base itself. Despite the name, the site is open to tents too. Amenities include laundry, restrooms, showers, storage, and outdoor spaces. Most sites have full hookups while the rest have partial basic amenities. If you have served and like the idea of staying on base, this is for you.

King’s Row RV Park
Last but definitely not least is King’s Row RV Park. It’s on the Boulder Highway close to Regal Boulder Station and I-515. It’s very accessible while also being close to the desert. It’s an adult-only site so there’s no sound of screaming kids or trip hazards from abandoned bikes. There are trees for shade, a pool, two pet parks, a dump station, WiFi, a rec center, laundry, showers, and restrooms all on-site.
