Heartwarming Rescue: Dog Fell Into Canyon and Survived

A dog fell over 100 feet into a canyon at the Colorado National Monument last week, but the quick actions of Mesa County Search and Rescue saved the pup’s life. A Facebook post from Mesa County Search and Rescue suggests the dog and her owner pulled over to take in the view, and the excited pup ended up dashing toward the ledge and falling over. Thankfully, she sustained only minor injuries from the fall.

“Despite her long fall, the dog was up and walking once her rescuers got her over the ledge,” Mesa County Search and Rescue wrote in the social-media post. “Her owner was extremely grateful and took her to the emergency vet right away.”
