Remote Camera Traps Capture Stunning Snow-Leopard Images

Award-winning wildlife photographer Sascha Fonseca uses remote camera traps to capture some of the most stunning images of big cats you’ll ever see—including the elusive snow leopard. Fonseca teamed up with the Snow Leopard Trust to use custom equipment capable of capturing high-resolution images of wild snow leopards across the Himalayas.

Remote camera traps offer the ability to capture these animals in their natural habitat without altering their natural behavior like the presence of a human would. However, it doesn’t give the photographer the same level of control over a shot in the moment—a fact that makes Fonseca’s images even more spectacular.
Fonseca has shared the results of his project over time on his Instagram profile. He says he hopes his photos “help promote the conservation of this wonderful habitat and its inhabitants.”
