Leopard Walks Right up to Massive Buffalo Herd, Takes Down Calf

Booking.com

A leopard walks up to a herd of buffalo—and then what do you think happens? Does the herd trample the leopard, leveraging their numbers and massive size to their advantage? Does the leopard make a valiant attempt and then leave empty handed? Nope. The leopard takes down a buffalo calf like it wasn’t even hard.

Big On Wild, a wildlife photography Instagram account, recently posted a video showing this exact scene: A leopard approaching a huge herd of buffalo in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. But then, the predator just snatches a calf and runs off.

The comments section reflects exactly what I was thinking as I was watching this video:

“Now that’s the definition of audacity,” wrote one person.

“Man that baby was let down by those buffalo. That leopard had some balls though,” said another.

“This leopard fears nothing,” added another.
