The Indiana Manufactured Housing Association-Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA-RVIC) hosted its annual “Day at the Track” May 16 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, according to a release.

While scattered rain hampered the Indy 500 practice day, it couldn’t dampen the spirits of over 150 IMHA-RVIC members and guests who gathered in the infield of the Speedway to raise PAC funds for Indiana’s RV association.

Guests had “all-access” passes which allowed access to pits and drivers’ garages while race teams prepared to qualify for the famed Indy 500.  Two drivers stopped by for pictures and autographs including Conor Daly and 2013 Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan.

This annual event is made possible by IMHA-RVIC President Ken Eckstein of Mount Comfort RV, Greenfield, Ind., who has a unique relationship with many drivers, teams and with IMS President Doug Boles. It’s through these connections that IMHA-RVIC is allowed to hold this private event each May during practice and qualifying for the 500. Members from both the manufactured housing and RV side were well represented, along with state officials and legislators including Rep. Bob Cherry, vice chairman of the the Ways and Means Committee.

IMHA-RVIC wished to thank its sponsors: Mount Comfort RV, General Supply, Lynn’s Transport, Becker, Bouwkamp, Walker, GreenState Credit Union, Affordable Communities Group, United Rentals, and Root’s RV and Sales.
