A man standing behind a Komodo dragon puts into perspective just how big these massive reptiles can be. A couple of months ago, Wild Charles posted a video to social media showing off the dragon’s impressive size (using himself for scale), and it went viral. People in the comments section can’t seem to believe how large these animals are.

In fact, Komodo dragons are the largest living lizards in the world. The largest one on record was over 10 feet long and weighed 366 pounds (!). Komodo dragons live on only a few islands in Indonesia, including the island of Komodo, which makes up part of Komodo National Park.

Komodo dragons have large, curved teeth and a venomous bite. They can take down deer, wild boar, and even water buffalo.
