Four Wheel Campers Debuts Modular CampOut Truck Camper

Four Wheel Campers—whose lightweight, pop-up truck campers we’ve admired in the past—has introduced an interesting new option to its line-up. The company has taken the wraps off the all-new CampOut model, which, like its previous campers, is designed to fit a wide variety of truck beds. And while previous models offered a high degree of customizability, this new addition takes things to an entirely new level.

The CampOut was built from the ground up to offer customers the ability to create an interior space that completely meets their own individual needs. To do that, Four Wheel Campers created a set of modular add-ons that take the interior from completely empty and barren to a well-equipped tiny home on wheels. That’s due to an integrated attachment system that makes it easy for owners to add or remove premade modules as needed. Standard modules include a “Utility” module that provides interior and exterior storage bays and a “Power” module, which comes with a rechargeable lithium battery with AC, DC, and USB power ports, an integrated solar controller, and more.

The brand also offers a set of optional add-ons that include a “Water” module that provides a faucet and sink connected to a 12V-powered pump. It also comes with 11-liter fresh and gray water tanks. The “Fridge” module comes with a removable Dometic powered cooler, while the “Seating” module, which—you guessed it—adds additional interior seating and extra storage. Those modules can be configured in a variety of ways, creating an interior that includes everything an owner needs, and nothing they don’t.

The new CampOut truck camper is available in three different sizes—five, six, and eight feet—which covers most mid- and full-size trucks currently on the market. The unit weighs 860 lbs. for the smaller version and 1,030 lbs. for the largest size. It also comes with a cabover sleeping space with a queen-size mattress and six vertical rows of L-track and two MOLLE panels for external storage. Pricing starts at $25,995. Add-on module pricing varies based on size, materials, components, and so on.
