Bad News, There’s a New Fire Burning in Los Angeles County

Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get worse for the greater Los Angeles area, there’s another fire burning and a new set of evacuation orders. The Hughes Fire started today in Lake Hughes, a community in northern LA County, and it has already burned through 5,000 acres in just a handful of hours. Evacuation orders have been put in place for some residents, and many more are on evacuation watch.

This is happening as deadly wildfires such as the Palisades and Eaton Fires continue to burn elsewhere in the county. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said in a post on X that the Hughes Fire started as a brush fire.
