Cummins to Reveal New Dual Fuel RV Generators at Tampa – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

FRIDLEY, Minn. – Global power and technology leader, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced today in a press release the debut of a new family of 50-state emissions certified RV generators.

The three product family, consists of the QG 7000i DF, QG 4000i DF, and QG 2800i DF. The newest member, the QG7000i DF, will be on display during the Florida RV SuperShow beginning on Jan. 15 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Fla.

This new RV fixed mount product range boasts modern technology designed by Onan to meet the evolving RV needs. All of the i DF generator family feature a returnless electronic fuel injection (EFI) system with capability to run gasoline or liquid propane vaper with the flip of a switch. The generators EFI is a closed loop design, providing automatic adjustments for altitude and other operating conditions to maintain maximum output. Returnless EFI simplifies installation by removing the return line to the fuel tank. Since there is no carburetor in the EFI system, fuel varnishing issues have been virtually eliminated. Beyond the fuel system, the new family features clean sine wave inverter power output and 240V AC capability. This provides protection for delicate electrionics such as tablets, mobile phones, and medical devices. The “i DF” family also utilizes variable speed engines, permanent magnet alternators, and tuned muffler systems incorporating focalized vibration isolation mounts. All this minimizes noise and vibration to enhance the RVers lifestyle.

“Cummins is excited to launch this new collection of generators. We look forward to continuing our legacy as a power leader in the RV industry with the next generation of Onan RV generators,” says, Karl Wilson – North America Consumer Sales Director. “As the industry has evolved, we have    continued to listen to our customers’ needs and align our product offering to those needs. This new line up is a result of that.”

Additional features of the i DF family include J1939 communication protocol, making it compatible with coach multifunction displays. Computer controlled overload protection with circuit breaker disconnects will be standard to avoid overload failures. The onboard microprocessor also has enhanced diagnotics and operation monitoring to enhance the RVers operation.

The new Onan generator family will have staggered availability over the next twelve months with the QG 7000i DF taking lead. Cummins will begin to accept orders for the QG 7000i DF this summer followed by an end of year launch of the QG 4000i DF and QG 2800i DF. Onan will continue to serve the RV industry from our Elkhart, Indiana facilities providing selected upfits and accessories to our OEM customers.
