Jayco Concluding Masters RV Dealer Training this Week – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – Jayco is concluding its 2024 MASTERS Dealer training, which takes place the weeks of Dec. 2 and 9, according to a press release. Approximately 350 RV dealer partners from across North America attended, along with nearly 100 Jayco personnel conducting the training and handling logistics. The annual event is held on the Jayco campus in Middlebury. Jayco has consistently held annual in-person dealer training for over 40 years and this year has added a Customer Service focused week.
“This event is always one of the most impactful on our annual calendar, but especially so this year, given the significant percentage of first-time attendees,” stated Nic Martin, Vice President of Sales. “We love the opportunity to introduce new people to not only our products, but our culture at Jayco.”
The dealer personnel, which includes sales, PDI, service, parts, warranty, management and principals, have been hosted at the Hilton Garden Inn® and Inn at Saint Mary’s® both in South Bend, Indiana. Each morning they have been shuttled to Jayco via motor coaches to attend training throughout the campus on products, marketing resources, customer experience management, customer service, warranty, parts, materials, processes, tools, and more. The sales focused training includes line tours for both motorized and towable products, where regional sales managers and product directors explain the distinct advantages of Jayco RVs and unique construction differences.
The purpose of MASTERS, which is an acronym for Marketing and Skills Training for Excellence in RV Sales, is to arm Jayco dealers with comprehensive knowledge on the company, selling resources, and products. For those who are unable to attend from dealerships in person, Jayco has established an online learning management system that offers all the elements of MASTERS virtually. In 2023, over 4,500 dealer partners completed the online curriculum. That number combined with in-person dealer training, set a new attendance record for dealer MASTERS training in 2023 – and the numbers for 2024 have already eclipsed 2023.
At the end of each week, a graduation ceremony took place at the Gillespie Conference & Special Events Center®. The evenings began with speeches from Jayco leadership, followed by dinner and conclude with the presentation of framed certificates of completion and branded Jayco apparel for each attendee.
“Jayco MASTERS has long been an important part of the company’s DNA,” stated Ken Walters, President & CEO. “We believe it is another thing that we do that sets us apart. Having dealers and their teams come to Middlebury and see who we are, understand more clearly what we do and how we do it, cannot be duplicated through virtual training or even in-person on the dealer’s lot.”
