Sound on: Bull Elk Plays in Mud and Bugles in Front of Trail Cam

Dina Yarbrough is a wildlife photographer who operates some trail cameras near Roslyn, Washington. She captures incredible photos of elk and other wildlife in her area, but her trail cameras also catch some wild moments. Yarbrough recently shared trail-cam footage of a large bull elk putting on a show, playing in the mud and bugling like no one was watching.

Yarbrough named this bull elk “Heavy” and describes him as a “gnarly growler.” She says she’s seen Heavy before on her trail cams and made it a goal to photograph him in the wild after she saw this footage.

Fans of the video on Instagram say Heavy is an impressive animal and that the footage is rare.

One person on Instagram said: “This is the best trail cam footage of an Elk I have ever seen!!!”

Another wrote: “This is really great footage. I can’t say how many times I’ve watched and rewatched this clip. Elk are my favorite and this bull is quite an impressive and magnificent beast! The sound of a big bull bugling makes my day!”
