The Perks of Midweek Stays at RiverWalk RV Park
Imagine slipping away for a few quiet days in the North Carolina countryside, where the mornings are crisp, the riverside is calm, and the trails are yours to wander. It’s a setting that feels almost like a well-kept secret, hidden in the heart of Yadkin Valley Wine Country.
For those who crave an escape from the weekend crowds, a weekday stay at RiverWalk RV Park on the Yadkin River in Jonesville might just be the perfect answer. And with an exclusive midweek deal, it’s even more tempting to make RiverWalk your “home away from home” for a couple of nights.
A Park with a Personal Touch and a Big Story
RiverWalk is no ordinary RV park. Opened just a few years ago by Jim and Marcia Neese, this boutique park is the result of the Neeses’ love for both RVing and genuine hospitality.
Their mission was to create a getaway tailored to RVers, where travelers could feel welcomed and at ease—almost as if visiting family. “Created by RVers, for RVers,” the park offers an environment that’s thoughtful, friendly, and full of amenities that cater to a perfect blend of relaxation and a touch of adventure.
RiverWalk has earned a loyal following, with many guests praising its clean facilities, well-maintained grounds, and warm hospitality. In fact, it’s been voted the #1 Place to Camp in North Carolina two years in a row.
“First time staying at Riverwalk RV park in Jonesville, North Carolina. A small park of about 50 pull-through decent-sized camping sites. It is very well maintained even after the recent hurricane. Nice amenities include very clean restrooms/bathhouse, the Yadkin River Greenway, which is great for hiking and biking, a dog park, and a full agenda of campground activities for young and old. The owners take great pride in this place and offer great service, including delivering ice and firewood to your sites. Park provides outdoor Internet service. Friendly and great vibe to this place, including dog treats for furry family members upon arrival. Highly recommend it.”
Scenic Sites and Amenities Galore at RiverWalk RV Park
RiverWalk isn’t just about having a place to park your RV; it’s about creating memories in a place that feels special. All of the 51 spacious sites—whether pull-through or back-in—are designed to accommodate big rigs, with up to 50-amp hookups, full water and sewer connections, and cozy touches like picnic tables and fire pits at every site.
The setting, right along the river, allows guests to truly unwind in nature. Whether you’re setting up for a couple of quiet days or a longer stay, RiverWalk’s amenities make it easy to settle in and feel at home.
“We had a pull-through level gravel spot, which made it easier for rookies, and it was wide enough that we didn’t worry about our slideout hitting any trees. The spot was also long enough to fit not just our 29-foot travel trailer but our pickup as well. We felt so welcomed, and they even had a “maiden voyage” sign posted at our spot on arrival. The property was so clean, and we stayed during the week, so it was quieter. Wi-Fi was strong. Anything we didn’t realize to or remember to bring, they had available for purchase in the shop…Riverwalk RV Park will always be special to us, and we plan to make it our “go-to place” when we just need a quick getaway.”
Crafting the Perfect Day at RiverWalk RV Park
For a relaxing day, start at Barefoot Beach, RiverWalk’s unique riverside haven. Hammocks and swings line the shore, making it the perfect spot to kick back with a good book. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of the nearby fountain. Kids love splashing and playing in the water, while adults lounge on the sandy beach. The tranquil riverside atmosphere makes Barefoot Beach a favorite for all ages.
Don’t forget your furry friends. There’s a designated dog-friendly area, along with the Happy Paws Bark Park. Here, dogs can play off-leash in a safe, fun environment. Families with kids have even more to do. Try outdoor games like Cornhole and Jumbo Connect Four, or head to the nearby playground on the Jonesville Greenway. Need last-minute essentials or souvenirs? The camp store has you covered.
“Great campground, especially if you have dogs.”
Need to stay connected? RiverWalk’s fiber optic Wi-Fi ensures you can share photos, check in with family, or even sneak in a bit of work. And when it’s time for fresh air, the Jonesville Greenway is right at your doorstep, offering scenic riverside trails perfect for hiking or biking and connecting you with the natural beauty of the area.
Venturing to Jonesville and Beyond
“Are you looking for a great, peaceful, relaxing campground that is easy to get to and has all you would ever need nearby? This is the place.”
While the park itself offers plenty to enjoy, the surrounding Yadkin Valley has even more to discover. Just a short drive away, the town of Elkin brims with local charm. Sample craft brew, dine at eclectic local restaurants, or catch a seasonal festival if you time it right. For wine enthusiasts, Yadkin Valley is home to over 40 wineries, with shuttles like Elkin Vine Line that can pick you up right from the park to take you on a tasting tour.
If you’re craving a bit more adventure, explore the nearby attractions. Carter Falls and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway are both perfect for a day trip. Mt. Airy, the hometown of Andy Griffith, is also a short drive away. This charming town, the inspiration for “Mayberry,” offers quaint shops, local history, and a nostalgic look at small-town life. Want to get on the water? Kayaking along the Yadkin River is a popular choice. North Carolina River Riders even provides convenient shuttles to and from the park.
