SSI: Retail Registrations at 35,988 in July, Down 9% YOY – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

RV Business

There were 35,988 retail registrations recorded in July 2024, which is a 9% decline compared to the 39,580 total in July 2023, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based sub subsidiary of Trader Interactive that monitors retail and consumer data for the RV industry.

Year to date, there have been 226,542 retail registrations in 2024, which is a 10.2% decrease versus the 252,282 total for the same period in 2023.

For comparison, the RV Industry Association (RVIA) reported 24,116 wholesale shipments in July 2024 and 202,712 units shipped year to date. Wholesale shipments have had a year-over-year increase for nine consecutive months, it should be noted, going back to November 2023.

UNITED STATES

Travel Trailers – 22,153 in July 2024 (vs. 24,413 in July 2023; a 9.3% decline). Market share leaders: Forest River Inc. (40.8%), THOR Industries Inc. (39.2%), Grand Design RV Co. (7.0%).
Fifth-Wheels – 5,317 (5,987; -11.2%). Market share leaders: THOR (40.0%), Forest River (27.2%), Grand Design (15.4%).
Camping Trailers – 490 (682; -28.2%). Market share leaders: Forest River (68.0%), Aliner (16.9%), Purple Line LLC (4.1%).
Park Models – 236 (223; +5.8 %). Market share leaders: Cavco Industries (30.1%), Skyline Champion (19.5%), Kropf Mfg. Co. Inc. (16.1%).
Class A – 746 (891; -16.3%). Market share leaders: THOR (45.2%), Forest River (18.8%), REV Recreation Group (17.3%).
Class C – 1,646 (1,854; -11.2%). Market share leaders: THOR (52.0%), Forest River (25.6%), Winnebago Motorized (9.4%).
Class B – 896 (1,059; -15.4%). Market share leaders: THOR (39.6%), Winnebago Motorized (27.1%), Forest River (8.6%).

Travel Trailers – 3,468 in July 2024 (vs. 3,407 in July 2023; a 1.8% increase). Market share leaders: THOR Industries Inc. (38.4%), Forest River Inc. (38.1%), Grand Design RV Co. (6.5%).
Fifth-Wheels – 534 (492; +8.5 %). Market share leaders: THOR (42.3%), Forest River (27.2%), Grand Design (21.0%).
Camping Trailers – 101 (111; -9.0%). Market share leaders: Forest River (93.1%), Aliner (3.0%), Mfr. Unknown (2.0%).
Park Models – 2 (6; -66.7%). Market share leaders: Forest River (100%).
Class A – 68 (67; +1.5 %). Market share leaders: THOR (52.9%), Forest River (17.6%), REV Recreation Group (16.2%).
Class C – 140 (142; -1.4%). Market share leaders: THOR (50.0%), Forest River (36.4%), Winnebago Motorized (5.0%).
