Design on the Road: Get Your RV Organized

Organization in a mobile living space can be daunting: Every inch is precious, and not every space-conscious solution is ideal for holding things in place in transit.

So when Ethan and Gracie Klumpp renovated their 1974 Airstream Excella, they set out to take advantage of the 31-foot trailer’s vertical space. Ethan, a woodworker, and Gracie, a writer and illustrator, looked for spots to install pegboard where baskets and bins now hold Gracie’s art supplies, books and other decorative and daily-use objects.

The setup is functional and aesthetically playful too. “The attachments stay secure on bumpy roads,” Gracie says, “just don’t forget the mini bungee cords.”
