Minnesotans head West to battle massive wildfires – Outdoor News

To help 12 western states battle wildfires, Minnesota state agencies have deployed more than 100 firefighters as of July 24 to assist in the region’s fire-combat efforts.
The needs in Oregon, Colorado, California, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Nebraska, Utah, and Nevada have grown as the fire season turned up the heat this summer.
“They’re drawing from a larger pool of national resources, and we’re seeing a greater shift that tends to draw in a little bit more help from Minnesota. And we’re able to support that because our fire needs, currently, are at a lower level,” said Leanne Langeberg, Interagency Fire Center public information officer.
