Black Book: Wholesale RV Values Mixed as ’25 Models Appear – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
Black Book, which publishes a family of vehicle appraisal guides, has released the Black Book RV market commentary for August.
“After several months of consistency, the values for Motorhomes and Towables sold at auction diverged this month. Towables dropped slightly, but Motorhomes saw a dramatic and unexpected increase. Taking a closer look at the sales data, we saw that there were an unusually large number of high-end Class A’s sold last month, which had the effect of raising the average selling price disproportionately,” reported Eric Lawrence, Black Book principal analyst – specialty markets.
“Taking a closer look at the markets, we see that the average selling price for motorized units was $68,756 which is up $10,345 (17.7%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $19,057, down $332 (1.7%) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $68,405 and the average towable unit brought $25,056,” he said.
Auction volume was up: motorhomes increased 4.8% while towables rose 11.1%.
The average age of motorhomes was nine years old (2015) and towables was five (2018).
