RV Women’s Alliance Hosts Second Annual Spring Campout – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
HOWE, Ind. – The RV Womens’ Alliance (RVWA) hosted its second annual Spring Campout last weekend at Twin Mills Campground in Howe.
Susan Carpenter, aftermarket manager for Mishawaka, Ind.-based B&B Molders and current RVWA president, described the campout as “an absolute fantastic event!”
Of all the events RVWA hosts, “between this and the symposium, it’s one of the things people wait for every year. Boy, did we have an action-packed weekend.”
Events included an opening welcome and team-building event on Friday evening with a food truck featuring Mexican cuisine, followed by a country line dancing session.
“On Saturday, we had breakfast, yoga and hiking in the morning and then we made dog toys for local shelters,” Carpenter said. “Sip and paint” and a catered lunch followed, along with a campout favorite – the “campout crawl.”
“That’s where about eight eight different campsites hosted a different cocktail – and some snacks and some non-alcoholic drinks, too,” Carpenter explained. “So, for two hours you get to go from campsite to campsite and test out what they have, go see their units, and just meet new people.”
Saturday’s events also included bingo, a Kentucky Derby-themed hat contest, a derby watch party and a catered dinner.
“Sunday, after breakfast again, it was kind of just a wind down, see ya later, see ya at the next event type of thing,” Carpenter said. “We definitely packed in as much as we possibly could and what was nice about it was that we did so many different activities that if one wasn’t for you, you just didn’t do it. You did something else. There really was a little bit of something for everybody.”
The event attracted 106 participants, which, for a weekend campout, Carpenter characterized as “pretty amazing.”
Sponsors included Alliance RV, Cummins, Century Chemical Corp., Dometic, Lippert, RV Dealer News, Thetford, Truma and Winnebago.
