Snow Peak Debuts Ultralight PFC-free GORE-TEX Collection

The capsule collection’s hero product is no doubt the lightweight fully-waterproof hooded rain jacke ($500). Matching waterproof and wind-resistant rain pants ($375) feature an integrated belt, zippered pockets, and knee-to-ankle zippers for easy entry with boots on.

Completing the waterproof kit is the sleek rain hat and cap. For us, the bucket hat ($120) tips the scales just right. To ensure the elements stay out, each piece features seam sealing throughout and waterproof zippers where needed. Each piece is constructed from 100% recycled polyester treated with a DWR coating made without harmful PFC chemicals.

“The shoulder season calls for layering,” explains the team at Snow Peak, “and the collection offers versatile styles for a variety of weather conditions.” Snow Peak cites nature’s own shift from winter’s cool tones to the warmer greens, grays, and blues “that mirror the damp mists, emerging flora and early spring skies” as the inspiration for their latest color palette. Although rooted in the elemental, the soft, muted tones of the entire spring/summer collection also have a distinctly contemporary feel that will no doubt appeal to the modern outdoorist.
