When it was first introduced in 2020, the Winnebago EKKO redefined our perceptions of what a motorhome could be. Combining the best aspects of a Class B camper van and a larger, more comfortable Class C model, the EKKO brought rugged off-grid capabilities to a more spacious and versatile vehicle. Now, just four years later, the iconic RV manufacturer is looking to push the boundaries of what is possible once again with the introduction of the all-new EKKO Sprinter.

Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, the latest addition to the EKKO lineup features enhanced off-road capabilities courtesy of a rugged AWD system. The vehicle comes standard with all-terrain tires and has elevated ground clearance for bigger adventures. Tech systems on the Sprinter chassis include the Mercedes MBUX infotainment system, complete with onboard navigation, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other driver assistance features include a digital rearview mirror, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, attention assist, and more.

The EKKO Sprinter has belted seating for four passengers and sleeping space for three. An optional pop-top sleeping area expands that capacity to five. The RV is 18” longer than its EKKO Transit sibling, which translates to more cargo and living space. The onboard gear garage is 4” deeper than the 22A model, and its 80” long twin/flex beds are 4” longer as well.

One of the EKKO Sprinter’s signature features is its versatile multi-use living area. Thanks to a multifunctional dinette, the interior can shift to meet the changing needs of its owners. In its standard configuration, the lounge and folding table extension work together to create an efficient workspace. Alternatively, the two side sofas can combine to form a warm and inviting place for entertaining guests. The u-shaped dining configuration uses both couches and the swiveling cab seats to accommodate up to five people, and at the end of the day, the entire space shifts into sleep mode, creating a comfortable 30” x 78” bed.

Features in the EKKO Sprinter galley kitchen include the addition of a portable single-burner induction stove for use in and out of the vehicle. To make meal prep easier, it comes with a microwave/convection oven, a large sink, and plenty of storage. The new Class C model also features the EKKO line’s unique dry-wet bath that includes a pivoting wall to keep the cassette-style toilet, medicine cabinet, and mirror out of the way (and dry!) when the shower is in use.

The EKKO Sprinter even comes standard with 520W solar panels and a 320Ah Lithionics lithium battery bank, upgradable 630Ah for those who need additional capacity. The base unit includes a 2500W LP generator—with the option to delete—and a Truma water heater and furnace. The motorhome even has class-leading holding tank capacities with a 50-gallon freshwater reservoir and a 51-gallon gray water tank.

Both the EKKO Sprinter and EKKO Transit are built for extended-season camping. Each vehicle features all-season insulation in the roof, walls, and floor, as well as insulated exterior compartments, including a heated gear garage with room for two bikes. Additionally, the holding tanks and water lines are located inside the vehicle, providing added protection from cold temperatures.
