The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) hosted its inaugural Authorized Leaning Partner Conference, Dec. 4-5, at its headquarters in Elkhart, Ind., according to a News & Insights report by the RV Industry Association (RVIA) The event brought together a wide range of companies who all share the desire to train RV technicians. Representing a total of 393 partner locations, 29 Authorized Learning Partner managers and trainers attended. This includes 389 dealerships, two correctional facilities, and two technician colleges.

The Conference provided more insight into the tools that are available to partners through the Institute to help elevate the success of their training program. Attendees received a tour of the Institute’s facilities, including the lab areas, to demonstrate and brainstorm ideas for training setups at partner locations. The Institute also discussed different training structure options to help Learning Partners better formulate trainings that works best for their locations. Throughout the week, the Conference focused on joining together the ideas of existing Learning Partners and combining those ideas with the Institute’s resources. Ultimately, this event facilitates success for both parties moving forward, with the common goal of producing quality certified technicians.

The Learning Partner Conference is critical to the RV Technical Institute’s “Hub and Spoke” model to build a network of locations across the country offering the Institute’s gold standard curriculum. Learning partners are critical in amplifying training across the country with Partners currently training and certifying more than 85% of the Institute’s students (this equals over 15,000 learners. In addition to encouraging industry unity and training of qualified service technicians, the Conference presents an opportunity for attendees to continue building and delivering the gold standard in RV technician training. This attracts more individuals into a rewarding RV technician career.

“My expectations were high as I was preparing to participate in the RV Technical Institute’s first annual Authorized Learning Partner Conference held in Elkhart, Indiana. My role is unique as I’m an Authorized Learning Partner Manager as well as an RV Technical Institute Board Member,” said Brad Woods, the Director of Learning & Development at Camping World. “I’m happy to report to the Institute’s Board that the conference was a huge success. It was encouraging to hear the dialogue exchanged between fellow Learning Partner managers and trainers.”

“The dealership representation that was in the room was all on the same page with one common goal, and that was to help the Institute produce the best possible technician training product. The RV industry is in good hands with the Institute spearheading this effort. I was honored to participate,” Woods continued.

The RV Technical Institute would like to thank Southwire & AP Products for sponsoring the Authorized Learning Partner Conference’s dinner on Monday night, December 5.

The RV Technical Institute’s Authorized Learning Partners have access to the Institute’s full technician curriculum, course materials, learning management system, and the first attempt at testing.
