ELKHART, Ind. – Heartland RVs is introducing its new mid-tier fifth-wheel model, Corterra, just in time for this year’s Elkhart RV Dealer Open House, according to a release.

Named for the Latin words “cor,” for heart, and “terra,” for land, Corterra represents the essence of what Heartland does best, the release continued. It draws upon the high-quality materials, construction, design and interior decor that set its other brands apart. The result is a crowd-pleasing model aimed at long-term campers that offers great value for its price.

Corterra’s exterior features include American-made Goodyear tires with a built-in tire pressure monitoring system and 7,000-pound Dexter axles. It also comes with Dexter Tow Assist, which offers a robust suite of new safety features. Anti-lock braking reduces tire skid and provides stable braking by increasing road traction. Sway mitigation helps keep the trailer in line with the tow vehicle during windy days, lane changes and higher speeds. Also, a towable odometer provides trailer mileage so owners can perform recommended maintenance at key intervals.

Corterra is built around a 10-inch I-beam frame with two-inch crush tubes, giving it a solid but lightweight foundation on the road. An innovative new aerodynamic front cap includes an expansive windshield that offers stunning views of nature. At the entry, solid steps by MORryde with an extended grab handle offer stability as owners make their way through the tinted, all-glass entry door.

“Corterra’s construction is strong but lightweight, and features innovative new elements like an all-glass entry door and a panoramic window in the front cap,” said Jon Gust, General Manager for Corterra. “It’s a capable, well-built RV wrapped in a beautiful exterior.”

Inside Corterra, residential amenities make the space comfortable. The kitchen includes a lighted wine or coffee bar, and there’s a pull-out trash can with a hidden storage drawer. A residential appliance package provides a 30-inch over-the-range microwave and a 16-cubic-foot refrigerator so campers can make all their favorite meals on the road. A hidden pantry sits behind the entertainment center, which also offers exclusive storage space in the mantel.

In the bedroom, there’s a standard residential king bed, providing a generous sleeping area in a true 76 by 80-inch size, plus dual wardrobes and ample dresser storage. Every Corterra model will also come standard with washer and dryer prep.

“We’ve leaned into a more ‘minimalist feel’ with Corterra,” said Gust. “The most important thing has been to perfect the essentials campers rate as the most important while maximizing every square inch of space.”

There also are new dimmable lighted batten strips overhead throughout the coach, which don’t require placing holes in the ceiling for puck lights. A standard SOL 190 solar package gives campers the option to start using solar power right away, offering a source of renewable, low maintenance energy wherever they go.

In addition to top-level amenities, Corterra also includes thoughtful touches that infuse every detail with intention. Features like built-in pet bowls, hidden storage in the stairs and dinette seating, sleek hardware-free drawers and cabinets and flush floor slides set Heartland’s newest model apart from the competition.
